Stefan Sanderson confident of dethroning Jay Byrne

Stefan Sanderson [5(1)-0] claims he is in the shape of his life ahead of his springboard bout with Jay Byrne tomorrow night.

The Scot challenges ‘The Negotiator’ for his BBBofC light middleweight title in Turnberry, Scotland this weekend and is confident of of recording a win that will see him take a big stride forward.

Such is the importance of the bout that the Paisley southpaw took himself off to Dubai to prepare and he believes he will reap the benefits when the pair trade leather on the top of a Kynoch Boxing show.

“I am ready to lift the Celtic Title, I am looking forward to sharing a ring with Jay,” Sanderson told Irish-Boxing.com.

“I’m feeling the best I have ever felt. My training camp in Dubai has been perfect with great sparring.”

“All the hard work is done, Saturday night we go to work.”

Sanderson and Byrne have one common opponent in Paul Kean but came out with differing results.

This weekend’s challenger defeated his fellow Scot in a national title figh while Byrne was outpointed by the Dundee 26-year-old who fights Craig Kelly for the Sanderson’s vacated Scottish title on the same bill.

However, stylistically, the fight would look to suit Byrne [8(2)-6(2)] who has told this website that he is confident of upsetting the Scottish support for a second fight running.
