St Brigid’s Edenderry Sparring Camp receives major boost

The annual St Brigid’s Edenderry International Sparring Camp has received a major boost ahead of its biggest edition yet.

The week-long camp in Offaly – the largest non-competition gathering of female boxers in the world – has secured a major sponsor for 2019.

The expanaded Brigid’s clubhouse will play host to over 200 boxers from 20 countries next week and some much-needed support has come in from CommsLock.

The camp, a brainchild of Liam Brereton, runs from Tuesday August 6th to Tuesday August 13th 2019 and countries represented includ England, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, Finland, India, The Gambia, Singapore, Canada, Sweden, Greece, and Croatia as well as, of course, Ireland.

All age groups will feature, with numerous major medallists taking part.

CEO of CommsLock Graham Penrose said that “we are honoured to support the continued efforts of AIBA Three Star Coach Liam “Morley” Brereton, Offaly Sports Partnership Coach of the Decade. Liam has worked tirelessly for female boxing and boxers over the years creating equality of opportunity for female boxing talent in Ireland and globally.”

The CommsLock package will include branded bags and t-shirts for the boxers as well as powerful free WiFi for all involved and substantial multi-media broadcasting.
