Ryan: Hyland-Napa set for May

20 January 2009 – By Mark Doyle

Paulie Hyland’s proposed bout with European super-bantamweight champion Ian Napa will go ahead in May, according to the Dubliner’s coach, Pat Ryan.

Napa’s promoter, Frank Maloney, announced last month that the fight was very close to being finalised and Ryan has now revealed that it is effectively a done deal.

“Paulie will challenge Ian Napa this may. That it will happen, you can take it as read,” he told The Sun.

Hyland, who has lost just one of his 14 professional fights to date, is currently in a training camp in Spain with brothers Eddie and Patrick, and a number of other top Irish fighters.
