Regan Buckley signs pro deal

Former amateur star Regan Buckley has signed a pro deal ahead of a debut later this year.

Buckley announced his intention to turn pro earlier this month and has quickly been snapped up.

The light flyweight, who will most likely campaign at bantamweight in the pros initially in order to secure regular opponents, has put pen to paper on a deal with newcomers ‘It’s A Bout Boxing Ireland.’

The 19 year old is a two-time Irish champion, and was runner-up at the most recent Senior Elite Championships.

A press conference, which will be open to the public, is planned for this Thursday (January 19th) at the National Stadium in Dublin, where it is expected that the first ‘It’s A Bout Boxing Ireland’ card will be formally announced. The date for this card is rumoured to be in late March or early April.

Buckley joins John Joyce, Stephen Carroll, and Crank Whitehouse in the burgeoning promotional outfit’s stable.
