Two fights have been struck off the bill at Royal Theatre in Castlebar on Friday Decemeber 7th.
Both Graham McCormack and Ollie Towey have been forced off the bill out West under doctors’ orders.
Limerick light middle McCormack [3(0)-0] was due to face Cork-based South African Jade Karam in what looked set to be a competitive fight but a slipped disc suffered by the ‘G-Train’ means he must withdraw.
McCormack promised that “while I’m absolutely gutted, the most important thing is that I allow myself to recover and get myself back into the gym for what promises to be a massive 2019.”
Mayo globetrotter Ollie Towey [1(0)-2(2)] was due to make his return on the card having linked up with Olympic silver medallist Ken Egan. Sadly, though, Towey has to step away from the game having been declared unfit to fight by an ophthalmologist.
Towey explained how m”y time as a boxer is no more as I have to respect what ophthalmologist has told me but I gave it my all getting ready to fight, was in best shape I could have been in, and I leave with fond memories despite not being able to box.”
The card next month is headlined by Moylette who faces Mexican Christian Uruzquieta while undercard support comes from Spike O’Sullivan, Luis Garcia, Roy Sheahan, Dylan Moran, Victor Rabei, Craig O’Brien, Niall O’Connor, Owen Duffy, and debutants Aaron Gethins and Ruadhan Farrell.
