Quigley: I will cross paths with Cummings when titles are put on the line

JASON Quigley says he and fellow Irish middleweight prospect Conrad Cummings are on parallel paths at present, but believes the roads will converge when one of the duo claim a World title.

The former amateur foes have both impressed since turning pro and have been touted as two to look out for over the coming years.

Cyclone Promotion’s Cummings has looked impressively destructive en route to 4-0 whilst Golden Boy’s Donegal native, Quigley has twice stopped opponents on massive American cards since becoming a paid fighter.

It hasn’t taken long for the press to try and build a rivalry in the hope of a future derby dust up.

Cummings has previously stated a Quigley fight is something he would love in the future and the former Senior and European amateur champion has been singing of the same ‘down the line’ hymn sheet.

“Conrad is on the same path as myself at the minute. He is working his way up. Conrad has to go his path and I have to go my path, he gets titles and I get titles and then it would be brilliant to unification fight. No doubt there would be a lot of tickets sold for that one,” Quigley told Sky Sports.

Sky not only raised the prospect of trading leather with a fellow country man, but also name dropped Golden Boy stable mate, Anthony Ogogo- and Quigley responded similarly.

“Ireland versus England in any sport is always going to be a sell out and it would be a big fight. Again Anthony has his path to go and I mine. If we meet at the end I would be more than happy to have a crack at that fight.”
