Paul McCloskey forced to pull out of Bradley Saunders fight

PAUL McCloskey has been forced to withdraw from his proposed bout with prospect Bradley Saunders after suffering a knee injury in training.

The former British and European light welterweight champion was due to face the unbeaten hopeful on Saturday 29th March in Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle on the undercard of the British cruiserweight title clash between champion Jon Lewis Dickinson and challenger Neil Dawson.

However, the Derry southpaw revealed on twitter today that he won’t be fit for action come March 29. Speaking on Twitter Duddy said,

“Regrettably I will not be fighting on 29th March Newcastle due an injury on my knee, on medical advice I’ve been advised to withdraw #gutted”

Saunders, a MGM stable mate of Anthony Fitzgerald, was also left disappointed by the news.

“Not sure what’s happened, I was training my heart out for it. They said there was an injury but I think he just didn’t fancy it at all”.
