Paul Hyland Jr looking for a return to winning ways on ‘He Who Dares’ card

Paul Hyland Jr [20(7)-2(2)] will fight for the first time since his European title defeat on one of three Belfast cards slated for October.

The always entertaining lightweight is the latest name added to the ‘He Who Dares’ card and will trade leather as a pro for the 23rd time at the Devinish Complex on October 25.

An opponent has yet to be confirmed for the 29 year old as he begins to plot somewhat of a rebuild.

‘Hylo’ was last seen in action challenging for the European title in Milan.

The Belfast fighter was unable to complete the Italian job against accomplished Belgian Francesco Patera and after another guts packed display was eventually stopped and denied Continental success.

The reverse was only the MHD fighters second pro defeat- his previous loss coming against Matchroom favourite Lewis Ritson when Hyland challenged for the British title back in the Summer of 2018.

He regrouped from that reverse to reach European level and will be looking to put together a run of victories before scouting for another noteworthy title shot.

Hyland is the latest addition to what is fast becoming a populated card.

Olympic captain Darren O’Neill will debut on the card the former amateur standout jumping straight into a light heavyweight six rounder.

Dylan Moran of Waterford will also appear in what will be his second fight in a matter of weeks – the first playing out in Mexico.

Undefeated light middleweight Cillian Reardon takes a step up as he faces Jake Best, a fighter who holds a win over Cavan’s Owen Duffy.

‘The Freak’ Matthew Fitzsimons makes his return to the ring and adds further Belfast interest as does debutant Ruadhan Farrell.

Also on the Mickey Helliet Slater Sports show will St Michaels Gym Inchicore heavyweight Paddy Nevin.

More names and indeed fights of note are rumoured to be added soon.
