Opportunity to make statement on June 25th for Jake Hanney

Dublin welterweight Jake Hanney [4(4)-0] has been handed a strong comeback opponent for his Irish debut on June 25th.

The 27 year old former Australian Prospect of the Year takes on Nigerian-born Dutch fighter Innocent Anyanwu [22(13)-17(4)] in a four rounder on the FS Promotions/Rick Hatton ‘The Future’ show at the National Stadium in two weeks time.

‘Little Big Man’ Anyanwu has been in with some big names in recent years and is an above-average journeyman for Hanney who will be aiming to shake off the ring rust following 18 months of inactivity.

A former Dutch and BeNeLux super featherweight champion, Anyanwu streaked to a 20(13)-0-2 record, before moving into journeyman mode.

During this time he has faced Gary Buckland (forcing a count in the sixth round of a eight-round points loss), EU champion Ruddy Encarnacion (twice), European champ Edis Tatli, and Ukrainian hot prospect Denis Berinchyk
