Luke Keeler given the chance to make a statement on Feb 5

Deividas Sajauka is not the opponent Team Luke Keeler initially wanted, but the Lithuanian does provide the Dublin middleweight with a chance to make a mini statement this coming Friday night.

Keeler had hoped to fight Adam Jones, the puncher who surprised Anthony Fitzgerald last time out, at the Roadstone on Friday, but Sakauka steps in for the Celtic Warrior Gym fighter’s first fight in Dublin since November of 2014.

‘Cool Hand’ will be expected to beat the journey man with just five wins in 23 fights, but could out perform a number of fellow prospects by stopping the well traveled fighter.

Despite suffering 18 reverses Sajauka has never been stopped. He has brought the likes of Donegal’s John Hutchinson, Alex Hughes, Jack Arnfield and Andrew Robinson the distance. Keeler’s opponent has done six rounds fairly regular, has gone eight against Robinson and comes into the clash on the back of a victory.

Keeler will be hoping to impress his home support before a Birmingham date next month and a possible April 30 bout in Belfast.
