New Gayn’s- Unlucky Liam Gaynor teams up with UK managerial team

It seems Ireland’s unluckiest boxer Liam Gaynor [2-0] is about to have a change of fortune.

The Tallaght man impressed when he first turned over in May of 2017 with victory in two relatively tough early fights.

Although Belfast’s Alex Bazza and Poland’s Krzysztof Rogowski are not world beaters they are well respected journeymen and the manner in which Gaynor defeated them raised interest.

Irish fight fans were keen to see how the obviously ambitious -considering his early fight choices- then 20-year-old would impact the scene.

However,  the Kilnamanagh fighter hasn’t fought since November of 2017 and has slipped somewhat under the radar.

The 21 year old saw three fights fall through in a frustrating 2018 and watched on as your progressed their career.

Now the Dubliner’s fortunes seems set to change as he has relocated to England and teamed up with Alex Matvienko.

Gaynor will be trained and managed by the former pro and will work under the Elite Boxing Gym and VIP Promotions banner.

Matvienko has coached Jack Flatley to the English title and guided Luke Blackledge to Commonwealth success.

Gaynor becomes the first fighter to be managed by the trainer who retired from boxing in 2010.

The now Bolton based fighter is now hoping to return to the ring before the Summer is over and will we plotting for a busy end to the year.
