New Belfast show confirmed

A new Belfast show has been officially announced, becoming the first confirmed Irish card of the upcoming year.

MHD Promotions will kick off the year with one of their popular dinner shows at the Europa Hotel Ballroom in Belfast City Centre on Saturday February 3rd.

The show will come one year on since the last MHD show at the Europa.

Since then the outfit’s chief, Mark Dunlop, has become linked with English giant Matchroom and was something of a man on the ground for Eddie Hearn for the two big Sky Sports bills in Belfast this year.

On these shows, MHD fighters Paul Hyland Jr [17(6)-0] and James Tennyson [20(16)-2(2)] have seen their stars rise exponentially with two big wins each.

Lagmore lightweight Hyland claimed a stunning first round stoppage win over Adam Dingsdale in June before following it up with a close and controversial fight with Stephen Ormond.

Poleglass super featherweight Tennyson has stopped both Ryan Doyle and Darren Traynor in this time, rising to #4 in the world with the WBA.

In just under 11 weeks time though they will return to the small hall circuit on which they were bred to stay busy ahead of further Matchroom cards in Ireland.

Alongside Hyland and Tennyson, there is also a slot for Divis lightweight Joe Fitzpatrick [8(5)-0] and a return to the ring after two years out for new MHD signing, Ards super feather Stevie Quinn Jr [8(2)-2(0)].

There is also a spot on the show for Portsmouth prospect Lucas Ballingall [7(2)-0], who has been sparring in Belfast recently with the MHD stable.

Opponents for the five-fight bill will be confirmed shortly.

Tickets for the night cost £35 (unreserved), £45.00 (ringside), and £75.00 (VIP ringside including 4 course meal), and are available from the boxers involved or by calling +44 7712 473905
