Nelson: Quigley is a special talent and is on course for the top be it amateur or pro

JASON Quigley will be a success in what ever code he pursues over the coming years claims former World Champion and current Sky Sports personality Johnny Nelson.

The Donegal middleweight is rumoured to be on the verge of signing pro terms and is believed to be weighing up six figure offers from big american promoters at present.

The European amatuer champion and World Championships silver medal winner is being courted by Oscar Dela Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions and Bob Arum of Top Rank.

There is no official line on the popular Buncrana boxers future, but Nelson, who is Quigley’s Sky Scholarship mentor, claims Quigley is on a path to the top regardless of the road he choses.

“He is a very cool young man, very ambitious. He has a lot of things on his plate. He loves the sport and loves talking about boxing. Jason is something special and as long as he stays focused he will achieve big things.”
