Michael Gallagher scores chunky debut stoppage


Youth Olympic bronze medalist Michael Gallagher made an extremely impressive debut tonight in Dublin.

The Donegal cruiser fought on the ‘Celtic Clash 3: Building Champions’ bill in Dublin and claimed what looks to first of many stoppages.

A left foot in the second had the Polish boxer hurt and it looked to be a matter of time before Gallagher got the stoppage. Rybarski was crumpled into the ropes soon after but somehow managed to see out the round.

He wouldn’t last much longer though, and the end came in the third. Gallagher backed the Eastern European fighter into a corner and bludgeoned him with bodyshots to the ground. Rybarski rose, but was battered from pillar to post fo a minute before referee Emile Tiedt waved off the contest.

The win sees Gallagher start off his record at 1(1)-0, while the shell-shocked Rybarski falls to [1(0)-3(2)]
