Irish fight fans will get the chance to watch Michael Conlan’s Rio revenge mission this weekend.

The Belfast fighter returns to Madison Square Garden and fights Vladimir Nikitin on the massive Top Rank promoted card on Saturday night.

The Russian holds two wins over the former amateur stand out, one of which is one of the most controversial victories in Olympic boxing history.

Conlan out boxed and out fought the Russian in what looked like a one sided fight.

However, he was denied the decision by what has since been called ‘corrupt’ judging and his Olympic gold medal dream turned into a nightmare.

The now Top Rank promoted featherweight world title hopeful will never be able to get back his Olympic gold dream, but he can get one back over on Nikitin in New York on Saturday.

Irish fight fans can watch the bout which is being broadcast live on ESPN across America on Eir Sports. Eir have secured the Irish TV rights to the show and will relay the ESPN broadcast.

That suggests Noel Muprhy’s title fight further down the card won’t be aired, but you can watch Conlan versus Nikitin, as well as a nigh on Fight of the Year cert between Richard Commey and unbeaten mandatory challenger Teofimo Lopez and pound for pound star Terrence Crawford versus Egidijus Kavaliauskas.
