McCarthy to fight on live televised bill this Saturday

Fightstrore GIFBelfast Cruiserweight ‘Big’ Tommy McCarthy will fight in front of the TV cameras this coming Saturday night December 5th.

McCarthy is a late addition to the Mick Hennessy promoted show at Westcroft Leisure Centre in Surrey and will trade leather for the seventh time as a pro against Hungarian Martin Szatmari.

The show will be headlined by Lenny Daws Vs Ruben Nieto for the vacant EBU (European) super lightweight title and that fight will be broadcast live on Channel 5.

The undercard will be broadcast live on Channel 5 sister channel ‘Spike’ and McCarthy will feature in front of an onlooking crowd that will include the new World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury whose cousin Hughie Fury also features on the bill.

McCarthy was originally penciled in to fight in Blackpool on December 12th and speaking to Irish-boxing.com promoter Pat Magee confirmed that that fight with still go ahead barring injuring on December 5th.
