Martin Quinn targeting Victor Rabei after Karl Kelly “WAR”

War!

That’s Martin Quinn‘s prediction ahead of his November 24th clash with Karl Kelly.

It’s not the first time the three letter word has cropped up in relation to the six-round ‘Celtic Clash 7’ undercard bout.

Boxing Ireland Promotions, pundits, fans, and even Quinn’s opponent have suggested a firecracker of a fight will light up an anticipated Good Counsel GAA hosted-card – and Quinn is no different.

The fighter who was upset Kelly and Victor Rabei got a shot at the BUI Celtic light welterweight title before him claims he isn’t concerned with what has gone before and is looking forward to a good old toe to toe dust up.

‘”It’s going to be a cracker alright – me cracking his head all over the place,” he joked when speaking to Irish-Boxing.com.

“Ah no, I just want to get in there and fight now. I don’t think about who he has fought  we’re getting in for a war the best man will win.”

Quinn [2(1)-0] will be returning to the ring for the lightweight clash having not fought in almost 12 months with injuries, show cancellations, and opponent pull-outs keeping him on the sidelines.

The Crumlin puncher therefore is jumping ahead of schedule and into a tough fight in just his third pro outing.

Quinn explained that “I’m am just delighted to be back on show so quick I need a good fight so I’m very happy.”

Quinn admits he faces a tough six rounds next month but is confident he has the tools to beat ‘Little Sexy’ and, while he didn’t go all ‘Mystic Martin’ again, he revealed that he would like BUI Celtic 140lbs champion Victor Rabei [5(1)-0] after November 24th.

A win next month would put him in line for the belt at lightweight, which is currently vacant, but Quinn wants to put on a statement performance before challenging the champion at the weight above.

“[Kelly] is a good fighter it will be a good scrap,” he said.

“I see me winning all day, but I know it will be a tough good fight. I would love to fight Vic straight after it definitely.”
