Macklin: Conlan topping the bill was a no brainer his last fight was one of the best the Stadium ever seen

There has been 100’s of amazing clashes in the National Stadium at various levels over the years. So many in fact picking a top 10 proves nigh on impossible.

Some have suggested that THIS little known clash is the front runner, but Matthew Macklin claims Jamie Conlan’s get up off the floor win over Junior Granados on July 4 was up there with the best.

As a result he states picking a head line act from the host of MGM talent for the November 7 fight card was easy.

Speaking on behalf on MGM the three time World title challenger, who himself has Stadium experience said,

“It was a no brainer for Jamie Conlan to headline again, that was one of the best if not the best fight that the National Stadium has witnessed. The atmosphere was electric and we hope it will be even better this time.”

Conlan received sensational support on a night that will live long in the memory. Indeed but for the roars of the crowd he might not have risen to his feet after being dropped by a skimming body shot.

The Belfast favourite is hoping for a similar atmosphere this time round and is promising a performance of even more exciting proportions.

“I’ve fought in the National Stadium numerous times but the support that night from the Irish public was something special. I cannot wait to step into the ring and put on an
even better performance,” said the undefeated super flyweight World title hopeful.
