Low Blows: Mick Conlan

Top Pro Gif Ad
Ever Wednesday sees the release of a new installment of Low Blows, and we’ve got a very special entry this week.

It’s the turn of 2015 World champion, and new Top Rank signing, Mick Conlan who takes aim at his former amateur team mates.

Q: Hardest Trainer?
A: Hardest trainer would have to be Eamonn O’Kane or Willy McLaughin, both animals who give it 100% every time they’re in the gym!

Q: Biggest Moaner?
A: Biggest moaner has to be either Paddy Barnes or Tommy McCarthy. Paddy trains hard but just complains about everything, Tommy just hates running and any type of track session!

Q: Funniest?
A: I’ve two for this, Sean McComb and Roy Sheahan. Sean always brings the craic when we’re in camp and anytime I look at Roy I have to laugh. I don’t understand most things he says but I just can’t help but laugh.

Q: Biggest Ladies’ Man?
A: Conor Wallace always seems to have someone new on the go!

Q: Most Intelligent?
A: Darren O’Neill, I think he’s doing a masters and a few other things.

Q: Least Intelligent?
A: Kurt Walker, thinks he has a brain but doesn’t!

Q: Hardest Puncher?
A: Hardest puncher definitely has to be Phil Sutcliffe. Probably one of the hardest Irish punchers of all time.

Q: Most Naturally Talented?
A: John Joe Nevin, a gifted fighter and hopefully gets his career back on track!

Q: Cheapest?
A: Connor Coyle! I remember at the training camp for Commonwealth Games he was charging any of the lads in his car a pound for diesel, cheapskate!

Q: Worst Dancer?
A: Paddy Barnes or Tyrone McKenna! Paddy does some shadow boxing and Tyrone just throws his body parts everywhere!

Q: Worst Dress Sense?
A: He might be one of the most naturally talented, but John Joe Nevin loves his Army wife beater vest with a jacket tied around his waist.

Q: Biggest Messer?
A: I think these are a common choice between all the boxers, Tyrone McCullagh and Roy Sheahan. Roy always is playing pranks on people every time he’s around. Tyrone… we would play pranks on each other and he always has to have the last laugh with no limits. In the past he burnt my Man City top and has done a few more things I should not mention!
