Low Blows: Ger ‘Boom Boom’ Healy

This week on Low Blows we chat to Belfast’s Ger Healy [5(0)-4(1)-2].

The light middleweight has been around boxing for a number of years in a number of gyms, and dishes the dirt on his fellow fighters.

Q: Biggest Moaner?
A: That would have to be Ray Ginley back in his boxing days, he was always moaning about something.

Q: Funniest?
A: That was Ray Ginley again. If you went into the gym in a bad mood, he would have you leaving the gym happy.

Q: Biggest Ladies’ Man?
A: I think I will take that one in case I get someone in trouble!

Q: Most Intelligent?
A: I would go for Mark Ginley.

Q: Least Intelligent?
A: This one would have to be Eddie Nesbitt. I thought I was until I met Eddie!

Q: Hardest Puncher?
A: Levan Ghvamichava was a big puncher for his weight. We did loads of sparring and he can hit I tell you that.

Q: Most Naturally Talented?
A: Anto Cacace and Dee Walsh. Two amazing boxers.

Q: Cheapest?
A: They will all tell you that I am, but I’m just smart with my money!

Q: Worst Dancer?
A: Has to be Sean McCullough. He thinks he can dance, but he just can’t.

Q: Worst Dress Sense?
A: Joe Hillerby when he comes to the gym, but he’s not too bad at the weekends.

Q: Biggest Messer?
A: This one is hard, there are a few of them, but Gerard McCafferty. He would always be up to something when you least expect it.

Healy fights on April 22nd at the Devenish Complex on the Kieran Farrell ‘A New Era’ card. Here he will face Tommy Irish Carter.
