Liam Conroy set for two crucial fights in quick succession

This coming March promises to be the be one of the most important months in the career of light heavyweight Liam Conroy [11(3)-3(1)-1].

The Barrow-Galway boxer will fight twice, in two ten rounders, and could find himself on the cusp of a British title fight should he win both

First up for the 24 year old is a BBBoC Northern Area title fight on Saturday March 4th against Steve Cooper [4(0)-2(1)] on an MTK Manchester dinner show at the Park Hall Hotel in Chorley.

Then, just three weeks later, Conroy will reprise his undercard roll when Jorge Linares and Anthony Crolla rematch at the Manchester Arena, live on Sky Sports, on Saturday March 25th. Here he will face Tomi Tatham [11(5)-1(0)] in a British title eliminator.

Conroy had actually been due to fight both Cooper and Tatham in 2016.

Back in February he was due to fight Cooper, but the Darlington boxer had to withdraw on medical grounds. Conroywould outpoint Krzysztof Golec over eight.

The Tatham eliminator was then agreed for the undercard of the initial Crolla v Linares card back in September at the Manchester Arena – only for TNT to withdraw citing injury. Conroy remained on the bill and scored a hard-fought six-round points win over Frenchman Baptiste Castegnaro.
