Late addition made to Belfast BoxNation card

There has been a late addition to the Belfast BoxNation bill this Friday [March 10th].

The big bill at the Waterfront Hall features some top Irish talents, and will now also host the Irish debut of Gary Corcoran [15(6)-1(1)].

It is a first fight back for ‘Hellraiser’ following his grudge match eleventh round stoppage loss to Liam Williams in Cardiff last July in a Commonwealth light middleweight title fight.

The London-born 26 year old has extensive family links in Roscommon and Galway, and will be moving down to welterweight going forward.

A brilliant run of wins saw Corcoran outpoint Rick Godding, Rick Skelton, and Danny Butler in consecutive fights before being stopped by Williams last Summer.

He will now look to rebuild at the lower weight, starting on Friday.

The card at the weekend will be headlined by Commonwealth super flyweight champion Jamie Conlan against former world title challenger Yader Cardoza, and will also feature an Irish super featherweight title clash between Deco Geraghty and James Tennyson, and a BUI Celtic light welterweight fight between Tyrone McKenna and Jake Hanney. Other names on the card include Paddy Barnes, Marco McCullough, Lewis Crocker, Phil Sutcliffe, Con Sheehan, Steven Ward, and Joe Fitzpatrick, as well as English fighters Troy Williamson and Kevin Satchell.

Tickets are available through the Waterfront Hall (CLICK HERE) or through the boxers themselves (which is the avenue we would recommend).
