Larry Fryers has unfinished Ray Moylette business

Larry Fryers [11(4)-2(1)] claims he has unfinished business with Ray Moylette [11(4)-1(0)] and wants to fight the Mayo man before the year is out.

The pair were meant to trade leather in an eagerly anticipated Summer showdown, but paperwork problems meant ‘Sugar Ray’ couldn’t travel on fight week – and the clash didn’t play out as a result.

The Monaghan entertainer did still appear on the Murphys Boxing Card and was involved in the fight of the night.

The 29-year-old then fought at the Theater in Maddison Square Garden on a Matchroom card topped by Devin Hanney, but suffered a frustrating night against a negative Wesley Ferrer.

Moylette has since called out the Clones fighter via Irish-boxing.com and got in touch personally about remaking a bout he claims would be a “promoter’s dream.”

The Celtic Warrior Gym fighter suggested he would offer the New York ticket seller the chance to go straight back into noteworthy action – and Fryers has certainly responded positively.

The popular heart on his sleeve puncher claims there is unfinished business to be attended to.

“Ray reached out to me and asked for a fight and I happily accepted. All going well we can get that going by the end of the year. We have unfinished business and I’d love to share the ring with him,” Fryers told Irish-boxing.com.

Fryers was extremely upset post his second career defeat earlier this month. ‘Lethal’ was frustrated by his opponents desire to hold and the referee’s lack of desire to punish him. Indeed, speaking soon after the reverse he confirmed he had lodged a complaint against the referee and stressed he had no desire to rematch the negative Ferrer.

Fryers believes a Moylette contest would certainly be more fan friendly – and it if doesn’t happen he remains adamant it’s the level of fight he wants.

“If for some reason it isn’t Ray next then I just want to fight. But  I have already made it clear I want guys with the same record or guys with a better record than I have, nothing else. So Ray or not my next fight will be a good one.”
