Larry Fryers climbs off the canvas TWICE to score stunning KO win

Larry Fryers didn’t get to have his big all-Irish fight last night in Boston but the Monaghan light welter was still involved in a dramatic war at the Encore Casino.

The Clones puncher was due to box Mayo’s Ray Moylette for the New England title on the big Murphys Boxing show but visa issues prevented his opponent making it to Massachusetts.

Fryers was still afforded the chance to fight on the show – which was shown live on UFC Fight Pass – and once again was involved in the most exciting fight on the card.

Matched with game away fighter Bryan Abraham – whom Moylette defeated in very different circumstances back in 2017 – Fryers came through a massive scare.

The Upstate New York-based Ulsterman was sensationally dropped twice in the opening round but managed to get through to the bell before coming out in the second and scoring a sensational knockout.

The result sees Fryers improve his record to 11(4)-1(1) and a refixed date for a fight with Moylette is hoped for.

Afterwards he said “another win on an absolute amazing show.”

“It was a night of drama after being put down twice in the first round I came back and knocked him out in the second.”

“That’s what it’s all about, pure action, I fucking love it!”
