Kiko Martinez: The Carl Frampton defeat made me

IBF World Super Bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez is adamant that losing to Carl Frampton in February 2013 has made him a better fighter and helped him go on to become World champion.

Such has been the improvement the reigning World Title holder believes that he will reverse his only career stoppage on Saturday.

The Spaniard claims that losing to Frampton was a positive and that he has learned from that experience.

“I do not see the first fight as a negative, in fact I see it more as a positive and what is  the past will always be the past. I have learnt from that fight and I am now focused  on Saturday night and the future and taking that belt home with me,” said a determined Martínez.
