Kennedy a knock out success in Boston

Heavyweight Niall Kennedy sunk Alando Pugh into the canvas at Marina Bay Sportsplex in Boston last night to register an eye catching American debut.

The Gorey BC graduate went Stateside knowing some form of statement was needed if he was to be invited back on a regular basis.

He certainly delivered goods and  used explosive punching power to account for Washington’s Alando Pugh.

Kennedy, who has worked hard in the Celtic Warrior Gym on added a more pro style to his approached, stopped the American courtesy of a TKO in the second round pushing his record to 2-0 in the process.

Kennedy expected to beat Pugh, but the manner of the win was still impressive and would have caught the eye of American fight fans and Murphy’s Boxing, who promoted the Michael McLuaghlin topped show on Saturday.
