JOEL Diaz was given complete control of the reigns ahead of Jamie Kavanagh’s Boston debut tonight.

The young lightweight suffered his first defeat in 17 career bouts last December, but despite intimating that reverse owed a lot to being rushed into the ring ahead of his scheduled time the Dubliner has still made changes in his camp.

The former Wild Card puncher says working with both Joel Diaz and his long time coach Sedan Ruiz proved confusing on occasion. The Golden Boy lightweight, who fights Andreas Navarro , in the House of Blues tonight, claims uncrossing wires will only prove beneficial as he eyes up a successful 2014.

“Yes ( i have made some changes). I’m working with 100% with Joel for this camp and have just left my strength and conditioning too my other coach Sedan Ruiz,” Kavanagh told Irish-boxing.com.

“I was working with both for the last fight and there were crossed wires  on occasion. The only person suffering from it was myself. It was a bit confusing, but we have fixed that now.”
