Katie Taylor is Floyd Mayweather kinda big according to promoter Eddie Hearn.

The Matchroom boss believes the two weight world champion is a bonafide boxing superstar.

The promoter argues the undisputed lightweight and WBO light welterweight world champion is up there with mega names like as Anthony Joshua and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez as a standout name and star in the sport.

In fact Hearn went as far as to suggest Taylor stands out from that super star crowd as she is the first and only female superstar in the sport.

“[Katie is] right at the top because she is ground-breaking. What we are seeing with other male superstars is just another superstar. There has never been a female superstar in boxing in my opinion. Not someone filling arenas, not someone the broadcasters are saying let’s headline with Katie Taylor, let’s look at a pay per view fight with Katie Taylor in 2020. That has never been done before. So, she is a trailblazer in that respect,” Hearn said post Taylor’s WBO world light welterweight victory in Manchester on Saturday.

“Honestly, I was talking the other day. Look at the superstars of the sport, Katie Taylor is right up there on one hand. All of the tops, I am talking AJ, Canelo, Mayweather is gone but that is the level I am talking about.”

Hearn may believe Taylor has reached the pinnacle in terms of stardom, but that doesn’t mean things have plateaued career wise.

The promoter, who works closely with Sky and DAZN, believes there is more to be achieved – and has been made aware by Taylor, that she wants to achieve it.

“She is that skilled, she has broken that much ground and we are really only getting started. That is the exciting thing. I feel like there is so much more to do. I said in a meeting in Philadelphia, I said to Katie what do you think another five, six, seven fights? She looked at me like she wanted to kill me. She was disgusted. I don’t know, this is what she loves to do. She is improving, boxing so well. “
