Kane Tucker secures super SILVER at Commonwealth Youth Games

Kane Tucker bludgeoned his way to Commonwealth Youth silver tonight in the Bahamas.

The Newry middleweight dominated Canadian Satwinder Thind in their quarter final in the Caribbean to upgrade his bronze medal won on Thursday to a shiny silver.

A fight which perhaps could have been stopped, the Holy Trinity fighter had no trouble with his opponent’s height advantage and bullied the Canadian throughout.

Always on top, the 17 year old took a unanimous decision win and will now box for gold tomorrow against England’s Aaron Bowen.

There was disappointment however for light flyweight John Moran and bantamweight Colm Murphy who have to settle for bronze after being defeated in their respective quarter finals with James Probert of Wales and Aussie Joshua Fitzpatrick.

Gleann welter Anthony Johnston will look to upgrade his bronze at around midnight tonight against Jamaican Jerone Ennis.
