“Irrelevant” and “Entitled” Frampton doesn’t deserve World Title fights claims Galahad

An increasingly “irrelevant” Carl Frampton doesn’t deserve to go straight back into major world title fights with the main targets Leo Santa Cruz or Oscar Valdez and will lose badly if he fights either one claims Kid Galahad.

The controversial Sheffield fighter who has never shied away from trying to goad ‘The Jackal’ suggested the former two weight world champion mistakenly feels entitled and is in no position to go straight back into a mega fight after his defeat to IBF champ Josh Warrington.

After initially seeming like he would retire directly after his world title loss to the Leeds native, Frampton has since revealed he would return, but only if major fights were on the table.

There has since been positive talks with both WBO world champion Valdez and WBA belt holder Santa Cruz – and both seem viable Summer options.

However, Galahad, who will follow in Frampton’s IBF world title challenging footsteps this spring after signing to fight Warrington, suggests the Belfast fighter should have to earn passage back to the top.

“He got battered by Warrington from pillar to post. He thinks because of who he is he is entitled to everything. He thinks he should be in these big fights because he is Frampton, he deserves them because he is Frampton!” IBF mandatory Galahad told BT Sport.

“In this game, and especially in life, things are not given to you, you have to earn them. He is at the point in his career where he thinks I should be this and this. He will probably fight Leo Santa Cruz and he will get battered because he hasn’t earned them fights. He hasn’t worked his way back up again and earned the shots.”

Although he doesn’t think Frampton is worthy of the likes of the Mexican world title holders, the Ingle Gym graduate remains open to fight the Jamie Moore-trained fighter.

“If he wants to settle it in the ring we can make that fight. I guarantee you he won’t go past three rounds with me,” he continued.

It has to be noted Galahad, real name Barry Awad, was reacting after seeing Frampton state a desire to see Warrington ‘smash the shite’ out of the controversial puncher.

“It’s Carl Frampton isn’t it. I don’t even know why they are even asking him [about the fight]. I don’t know why he is even getting brought up in this whole thing because he is irrelevant. He has been beat, he is a loser and his opinion means nothing.

“He thought he was going to walk through Warrington. He was saying he was going to be too strong, too powerful and he got in there and he got battered. So does his opinion matter? No!”

“He can hope all he wants. Hope won’t help Warrington in this fight.”
