Irish champion added to Leeside Revolution card

It won’t be Mahon man Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan, but a Celtic Warrior Gym light middleweight will appear on the Leeside Revolution card.

Irish light middleweight champion Craig O’Brien  [10(1)-1(1)] is the latest name added to the growing card.

The well supported  ‘Iron’ was meant to fight in York Hall on the ‘Irish Invasion’ card later this month before re starting his pursuit of the American dream and fighting with Murphy’s Boxing Sateside.

However, the Inner City Dub today confirmed his next outing will take place in Ireland as he has been added to the Neptune Stadium hosted fight night.

CRAIG O'BRIEN

The bout will be O’Brien’s second of the year and his third since he lost to Anthony Fowler live on Sky Sports. It’s believed that the clash will be a precursor to a return to New York later in the year.

Speaking on social media the skilled light middleweight confirmed,

“So my fight over in London on June 22nd will not be going ahead now. Instead I will be going to Cork for my next fight on July 20th in the famous Neptune stadium. I am  training super hard for this fight. It will be a 6 round fight. I’m hope in to bring a big crowd down there as always and make it a great night for everyone.”

The bill will be topped by an exciting Irish welterweight clash between Noel Murphy and Jake Hanney. The likes of Graham McCormack, Siobhan O’Leary, Stephen McAfee, Craig McCarthy, Sam Carroll and Katelynn Phelan have also been confirmed on the bill, as has amateur Tommy Hyde.
