Interesting list of opponents confirmed for Ulster Hall October 11 card

No fewer than four #MTKFightNight Irish fighters had their opponents confirmed for the October 11 Ulster Hall show.

Prospects Lewis Crocker, Gary Cully, Sean Duffy and debutant Ruairi Dalton’s have all had their opposition confirmed for a card that is topped by an intriguing clash between European Champion Jay Harris and three time Olympian Paddy Barnes.

Crocker [9(6)-0] will look to register his first win since teaming up with Gerard McManus and Daniel Anderson.

The big punching Belfast fighter takes on new stablemate Paddy Gallagher’s former foe Fernando Valencia [8(4)-15(2)], as he looks to enter double figures in terms of wins.

The Spanish-based Mexican took ‘The Pat Man’ the distance last December and has only been stopped twice in 15 defeats although does not look to be as stiff a test as his past two foes, Jumanne Camero and Karim Aliliche.

Gary Cully [8(4)-0] fights for the first time since March and returns against Polish opposition.

The Kildare lightweight, who had to pull out of what would of proved a break through fight with Renald Garrido over the Summer, takes on Rafal Grabowski [4(1)-1(0)-1].

It’s the first time the Pole has fought outside his home country so he remains somewhat of an unknown entity, but ‘The Diva’ will be just looking to get back into ring action before pressing for push on fights again.

Sean Duffy [2(1)-0] also had his next foe confirmed as he fights for the third time since turning over in March.

The Keady lightweight, who was last seen registering victory over experienced but negative journeyman Naheem Chaudhry on the Féile an Phobial bill, faces another well schooled and well traveled away fighter.

Spanish based Nicaraguan Eligio Palacios [7(0)-45(5)-5] returns to Belfast, a city were he has was outpointed by the likes of Phillip Sutcliffe Jr and Anthony Upton.

Another Spanish based Nicaraguan with Irish previous will provide debut opposition for Ruari Dalton.

‘The Rook’ will take on the experienced Jose Aguilar [16(6)-65(12)-5] at the Ulster Hall.

Aguilar appeared in the Ulster Hall earlier this year were he was the opponent for Callum ‘Cool’ Bradley.

Also confirmed for a stellar night of boxing at the iconic Belfast venue is Sean McComb vs. Emiliano Dominguez Rodriguez, Marco McCullough’s IBF European super-featherweight title defence against Viorel Simion as well as debuts for Paddy Donovan and Pierce O’Leary.
