Ray Moylette has asked Top Rank to consider hosting his New England title fight with Larry Fryers on the undercard of Michael Conlan’s fourth Madison Square Garden party.

Moylette is currently in Boston where he was meant to fight fellow Irish fighter Fryers for the strap on the Murphys Boxing annual St Patrick’s weekend show this Saturday.

However, the entire card has been KO’d by the Coronavirus meaning the Mayo man’s 15 month stint out of the ring looks likely to extended.

The popular Celtic Warrior Gym fighter hasn’t given up all hope of getting out over the coming days and is hopeful he can secure a slot on the undercard of Conlan versus Belmar Preciado – a card that will play out in front of an empty theater due to the virus.

The Pascal Collins trained fighter is adamant both he and Fryers would not only entertain on the card, but would attract local and Irish interest.

“Myself and Fryers would be an all out war. Two Irish guys fighting in MSG on Paddys day. I have massive support back home and Fryers has massive support in New York. This fight would create a lot of interest among fight fans both sides of the Atlantic,” he said sales pitch style while speaking to Irish-boxing.com before a somewhat more personal and emotional plea.

“I would be honoured to fight on Mick Conlons undercard. We shared the ring many times in the amateurs. I’m an honest boxer looking for a break. I’ve spent the last 15 months on the sideline training, waiting for my chance, only to have it taken away from me again from circumstances out of my control. I’m ready to get up to New York and throw everything on the line to fight Fryers in his own backyard.”

Moylette also called for help in trying to get the fight made and is hoping an online campaign may sway Top Rank.

“This fight would be a promoters dream to have on your tv card. I’m reaching out and asking all my friends to help me get this over the line.”
