‘I’ll dance for Conor all day’ – Eddie Hearn would do what it takes to sign McGregor

If dancing is what it takes to be given the chance to promote Conor McGregor, Eddie Hearn will get dancing shoes on.

The Matchroom boss responded favourably to random questions with regard the MMA star in the build up to his latest New York show.

Katie Taylor’s promoter, who plays a big part in Katie Taylor’s career, admitted he was a fan of ‘The Notorious’ and would love to work him.

The initial comments prompted a response from former two weight UFC champion, McGregor, who had a glorified exhibition bout with Floyd Mayweather two years ago. The former Intermediate level amateur cheekily tweeted, ‘Dance for me Eddie’.

Hearn is certainly willing to bust a move or two, as he admitted to iFL TV it would be a “dream to promote him.”

“When he says, ‘Dance for me Eddie’, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

“I’ve asked a few people, they went, ‘Nah that’s good — yeah, Eddie, dance for me’.

“I’ll do whatever you want, mate. I will dance for Conor. No problem. I’ll dance for Conor all day. Just come sign with Matchroom and I’ll dance for you all day.

“It’s quite amusing. It’s like one of those things where you look at your phone, see all the notifications and think oh s***, what’s happened now.

“Conor McGregor’s tweeted about you. I said he’s a legend. He is. I don’t know, I’m guessing he’s going back to MMA.

“Whatever he’s involved with – any chance to be associated with him in his promotion – it would be a dream to promote him.”

McGregor hasn’t fought since August of last year, the former Crumlin BC amateur lost to challenge Khabib Nurmagomedov in the Octagon and has only competed on Crumlin’s Good Friday show since.

It’s widely believed he will return to the MMA and UFC soon, but there have been boxing links.

After a public spat with Ballyfermot middleweight Luke Keeler, another fighter Hearn has a soft spot for, MTK offered the Dubliner the chance to return to the boxing ring, only for McGregor to decline.

Now Matchroom’s Hearn is expressing an interest and there is no doubt the promoter who is bringing two youtube stars to the pro boxing ring would love to put on a McGregor show.
