Ian Tims secures second rescheduled date

After two cancelled dates earlier this month, Dublin cruiserweight Ian Tims [12(3)-3(2)] will finally begin his 2017 campaign this weekend.

The veteran former Irish champion will box on Friday March 24th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow on the MTK Scotland Charity Boxing Dinner pro show.

Tims was initially due to fight on the inaugural Ginley promotions bill at the Devenish Complex in Belfast on March 3rd, before a date at the Meadowbank Sports Centre on March 11th. Both fell through, and ‘The Tank’ will hope to finally kick off his 2017 on Friday.

Also featuring on the bill will be James Thomson, Gary Murray, Jordan McCorry, and Ahmed Ibrahim.

An opponent for Timey will be confirmed in the very near future.

The fight could potentially serve as a lead-in to a mooted Irish title fight with Swindon-Wexford hard man Luke Watkins [9(5)-0], who himself boxes on April 8th at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon.
