Hogan now holds longest unbeaten record in Irish Boxing

DENNIS Hogan became the proud owner of the longest unbeaten streak among active Irish fighters with victory in Australia on Wednesday morning(Irish Time).

After a series of opponents pulled out ‘The Hurricane’s’ Australian title wasn’t on the line as he fought xx in Queensland, but another accolade was up for grabs. The win pushes the Kildare native to 19-0 (18 wins and 1 draw) meaning he now has the longest undefeated run of all active Irish fighters.

World title contender Carl Frampton is Hogan’s nearest rival as he sits pretty on 18 fights without reverse.

Hogan extended his record with an impressive knock out victory over late replacement David Galvin. The 29 year old middleweight Champion of Australia stopped the Aussie just 37 seconds into the sixth round of a scheduled eight rounder.

Team Hogan now feel their man has outgrown domestic level and some ‘big fight plans’ are said to be announced soon.
