Heavyweight blow for Belfast BoxNation bill – Price v Turner OFF

The Big Belfast Boxnatoin October 5 show has lost some serious sex appeal.

Just a week after the withdrawal of one half of one of the headline fights, another has fallen through.

The Titanic Exhibition Centre plays host to the exciting-looking bill on Friday October 5th but Irish-Boxing.com can reveal the anticipated heavyweight clash between David Price and Sean ‘Big Sexy’ Turner is off.

There was genuine excitement surrounding a crossroads fight with the potential to end explosively, but less than a week after Declan Geraghty pulled out of a fight with Marco McCullough, Turner has withdrawn from the TV heavyweight clash.

It remains unknown as to whether Price will still fight on the card or if he will be moved to another card closer to his Liverpool home.

It also remains unknown as to whether Turner is injured or, after stoppage defeat to Nathan Gorman last time out, he would prefer a less dangerous comeback fight.

It’s a massive blow to the card, but there remains some exciting clashes on the ‘Raise The Titanic’ bill and some emerging talent to watch out for.

The clash between Celtic super bantamweight champ Tyrone McCullagh and English titlist Josh Kennedy  should assume top billing.

Gary Cully looks set to get the step up he has craved against undefeated Welshman Lance Cooksey while Conrad Cummings, Sean McComb, Steven Donnelly, Steven Ward, Padraig McCrory, and World-rated Aussie feather Nathaniel May – who is of Belfast stock.
