Harvey begins ‘road to bigger things’ under old rival’s banner

PBK Promotions have turned from plotting Lynn Harvey’s [5(4)-2(1)] downfall to planning her ‘rehabilitation’.

The Spanish promotional outfit look after Catalina Diaz, the fighter who denied the Kilbarrack puncher the chance to become Ireland’s first ever female European champion, and were hoping for Irish defeat in March.

However, despite watching the Dubliner get stopped in the Continental straw-weight contest, they were impressed enough to offer Harvey a promotional contract.

‘The Hunter’ put a list of demands on the table and it seems they were meet, as she now heads out to Spain in a bid to get back to winning ways.

The promotional company told Irish-Boxing.com they have big light flyweight plans for the 37 year old.

Massive chance for Lynn Harvey.

Step one is to get the former National Elite Champion back on the bike and she does that on a stadium card in Cadiz in just over a months’ time.

The Reg Byrn=trained fighter will play a supporting role to Diaz, who defeated her last time out, and will take on Aouatif Al Kallachi [4(1)-7(3)-1] in a comeback bout her promoters warn is ‘not a walk in the park’.

Harvey will also return to light flyweight a weight her promoters believe she will be more comfortable and competitive at.

“Lynn Harvey will be fighting in Paterna de Rivera, Caty Diaz’s home town near Cadiz. The fight will be an open air show at Paterna football stadium. Lynn is now with PBK Promotion. This fight will be a rehabilitating fight on the road to bigger things at a more comfortable weight of 51 kg,” a spokesperson for PBK told Irish-Boxing.com.
