Graham McCormack [5(1)-0] has parted company with Boxing Ireland.

‘The G Train’ has left the Celtic Clash promotional stable without falling out with Stephen Sharpe or Leonard Gunning.

What the Limerick native’s next move remains unclear but the light middleweight reveals news is pending.

“I have been asked by a lot of people when am I fighting next and am I on Celtic clash 10.

“I am not fighting on Celtic Clash 10 and I will no longer be fighting under the Boxing Ireland Promotions banner. Me and my former manager came to a mutual agreement and I will be moving on. I want to thank the lads at Boxing Ireland for giving me a platform to get myself to 5-0 and I wish them all the best in the future. As regards myself I will have some news on my next move as soon as the Christmas is over.

“Big thanks to all my sponsors and supporters for your support as none of this would be possible without you. I am looking forward to an exciting future in the sport. 2020 I’ll see you.”

McCormack debuted under Boxing Ireland back in December of 2017. The pair looked a perfect fit a domestic ticket seller aligned with the most prolific promoters outside on the island Belfast aside.

The 30 year-old’s eagerness to trade domestic leather also seemed to fight Boxing Ireland’s Celtic Clash remit.

Boxing Ireland did explore the idea of promoting the popular Treaty man in Limerick, but struggled to find a willing venue and that’s where the roots of the split may have arose.

With no shows forthcoming outside of Belfast it seemed difficult for Boxing Ireland to find fights for their now former charge, although he is promising a big 2020.
