Geraghty only has eyes for Frank Warren during bizarre Archie Sharp head to head

Declan Geraghty made Frank Warren blush rather than Archie Sharp wince in one of the more unique head-to-heads in London today.

The Dublin stylist, in every sense of the word, is all but fighting to keep alive any hopes of progressing to a higher level when he takes to the ring this Friday.

In what is effectively his fourth breakthrough chance, the 29-year-old takes on undefeated Frank Warren hope Archie Sharp on a BT Sport-broadcast, Daniel Dubios topped card at the Royal Albert Hall.

If there is pressure on the EU Championships silver medallist he certainly wasn’t showing it today.

Indeed, when Sharp attempted to instigate some smack talk come head to head time Geraghty turned his attention to promoter Frank Warren.

‘Pretty Boy’ was never not going to admit he wasn’t the prettiest in the room, but he did compliment the veteran promoter on making an effort.

It may have been off the cuff from the always confident southpaw, but on the other hand it could have been a deliberate ploy to show he was comfortable in the surroundings and to show Sharp he was on good terms with his promoter.

Speaking on social media after fulfilling his media duties at the final press conference, Geraghty had a further message for Warren.

‘Frank baby I know you love me, you’ll love me more on Friday.’

Geraghty fans will be happy to see him relaxed going into a fight of such magnitude. It’s not that Sharpe is deemed the best he has faced, particularly considering he shared the ring with recent world title challengers Jono Carroll and James Tennyson, rather if he suffers defeat it could prove a massive blow.

On the other hand victory would secure him an IBF ranking title and could help propel him back into the company he feels he deserves to be with.
