Geraghty and Carroll fighting for Prizefighter slot

DECLAN Geraghty and Jono Carroll won’t just be fighting for pride in the 3Arena this coming Saturday night.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn confirmed the winner of the lightweight four rounder on the undercard of Matthew Macklin’s World title eliminator with Sebastian Hieland will secure a Prizefighter slot.

The 34 edition of the Tournament will be televised live on Sky Sports on December 6th and will play out in London’s York Hall and both Carroll and Geraghty are keen to get involved.

Previous Prizefighter winner, Gary Buckland 28(9)-5-2 and former European super-featherweight champion, Stephen Foster Jnr. 33(19)-5(2)- are two of the bigger names in Prizefighter Lightweights III.

The previous Prizefighter winners of the lightweight series have progressed on to greater fights and prizes such as the newly crowned British lightweight champion, Terry Flanagan 25(9)-0-0, the winner of Prizefighter Lightweights II back in July 2013. The Mancunian Prizefighter winner remains unbeaten and challenges Stephen Ormond for the WBO European strap on 24th November at the Hilton Hotel, Mayfair.

The Prizefighter carrot makes an already anticipated fight all the more intriguing.
