Galahad slams Frampton-Quigg PPV and predicts Santa Cruz stoppage

Kid Galahad [19(10)-0] will continue his comeback following a drugs ban on the Tyson Fury-Wladimir Klitschko undercard at the Manchester Arena on July 9th.

The former British, European, and Commonwealth champion will most likely not be facing an opponent of note on the Boxnation-aired card, but once he returns to full fitness he is gunning for a fight with Carl Frampton.

The Belfast man unified the IBF and WBA super bantamweight belts in February with a win over long-time rival Scott Quigg, however Galahad was left unimpressed.

The Sheffield slickster argues that “It was a contender for the worst pay-per-view main event in history.”

“The only ones that rival it are Tony Bellew’s rematch with Nathan Cleverly and David Haye’s fight with Audley Harrison.”

“Frampton and Quigg talked it up for years and then got in there and were both scared to lose. Neither of them did a thing for twelve rounds.”

“There were no risks taken. There was no attempt to provide entertainment or make a statement. They were both just happy to get paid.”

“Fights like that give this sport a bad name.”

‘The Jackal’ faces Leo Santa Cruz in a massive Summer showdown in New York on July 30th, but Galahad feels that after this he will have to return to Britain for domestic fights with the, reasoning that “For any of us [Frampton/Quigg/Galahad] to make big money, we all have to fight each other.”

While he contends that “Scott Quigg will always try and avoid me,” he believes a bout with Frampton could happen following his New York outing.

Galahad notes that “he’s moved to featherweight and is about to fight Leo Santa Cruz.”

“I don’t see him winning that fight, I think he’ll get stopped, but I wish him well.”
