Kid Galahad claims “Twitter brave” Carl Frampton is afraid to accept Windsor offer

Kid Galahad [24(15)-0] claims Carl Frampton [25(14)-1(0)] is only brave on Twitter, hinting the that the two weight world champion won’t take up his offer to trade leather on August 18th.

The Wincobank Gym graduate told Irish-Boxing.com he would solve ‘The Jackal’s’ Windsor Park opponent dilemma and is willing to come to Belfast to fight on August 18.

However the 28-year-old doesn’t believe the Belfast fighter is to keen.

The former British and European champion claims he is too much of a risk for the former two weight world champion and suggests Frampton would prefer what he suggests would be an easier clash with new IBF champ Josh Warrington.

“I think the Warrington fight is a fight Carlos would prefer,” he told Irish-Boxing.com before adding that Frampton is “desperate for it as he knows I am too much of a risk.”

“I just keep boxing and putting myself in a position where none of these guys can avoid me any longer. I’ve been doing that with my IBF ranking positioning and beating whoever they put in front of me despite last minute pull outs.”

“I would love to fight Josh, he’s come off the back of a convincing world title win and me and him would be an exciting fight – it’d be an all Yorkshire Derby… but I would also love to fight Carlos. Either of them can get Gala-had.”

The Dominic Ingle-trained fighter has had some verbal social media spars with Frampton over the years, but claims in person the Belfast man has been polite – something which he believes proves the Jamie Moore-trained Frank Warren-promoted featherweight is wary of his talent.

“Listen, I respect him as a fighter – he’s been one of Britain’s best but he got a bit too excitable when there was talk of us all in a World Boxing Super Series and started to talk down my opponents.”

“This is from a man who started missing weight and then went life and death with Horacio Garcia. This is when I got more vocal on the matter after he thought he was the funny guy on Twitter.”

“When I came and sat next to him to watch Warrington vs Ceylan though he wasn’t so vocal. Then he got back on his Twitter and became all brave again.”

At this stage of their careers, most would have the 31-year-old Tigers Bay man as favourite if the pair were to sign fight contracts but the English fighter is adamant that, if they were to trade leather, he would cash in.

While Frampton has not commented on the talk, fan reaction to the proposed has been mostly negative, something which does not perturb the confident Galahad.

The undefeated stylist claims he is better in terms of skill and fitness and went as far as to hint Frampton doesn’t live the life.

“I know I have what it takes to beat Carlos. I am the better athlete, the better boxer and I want it more than him. That’s why you don’t see me in between fights walking round like I have been smashing tacos and Coronas – and that’s why I call him Carlos.”
