Frampton: It is time to secure a World title shot

CARL Frampton says its time to secure a shot at a World title.

The undefeated super bantamweight star has been pursuing a world title tilt for the last year, but has been left frustrated by former foe Kiko Martinez-who currently holds the IBF strap- and others reluctance to fight.

However, Barry McGuigan’s likeable protege faces WBC number 1 ranked Super Bantamweight Hugo ‘El Increible’ Cazares in The Odyssey Arena on April 4 knowing victory will put him pole position to fight WBC Champ Leo Santa Cruz.

Frampton now knows exactly what it will take to secure a shot at the famous green belt and is fully focused on defeating the former two weight World champion to set up a tilt.

“The fight is now under three weeks away, it’s great to be back in Belfast and the camp has gone well. We’re one hundred percent focused on Hugo Cazares and it is my time to secure my World title shot. I want that green WBC belt and I know what I have to do to get my hands on it. It is brilliant to be fighting in my hometown against a former two-weight World Champion in a WBC Final Eliminator and I can’t wait for April 4th.”
