Frampton: I would love to put an end to that ‘Quigg rubbish’

CARL Frampton is bemused by some fight fans suggestions Scott Quigg is a better fighter than him and would love to put constant Frampton v Quigg talk behind him if he claims the IBF super bantamweight title in Belfast this coming Saturday.

‘The Jackal’ has been linked with the Bury born Matchroom promoted fighter since he claimed the Celtic Tilte in the Ulster Hall back in 2010. The fight has never materialised despite both camps claims they want to trade leather. It seems the Belfast star is becoming a bit tired of the constant talk and lack of action. He certainly can’t understand why people are of the opinion that a fighter others claim is over protected is better than him.

Victory one Saturday would open Frampton to a World of ‘mega’ fights and possible unification bouts, but he would like to finally beat Scott Quigg and move on.

“After Kiko, there are a few guys to be taken care of in the super-bantamweight division.

“I’d be telling a lie if I said I didn’t want to finish all that rubbish with Scott Quigg once and for all. People still think he’s better than me. I don’t know why,” said the World title hopeful.

Despite affording himself a glance into the future Frampton knows he has to over come a tough foe in Belfast this coming weekend.

“I am preparing for a hard fight. It is going to be a tough fight and the first fight was a very hard fight and to be honest I don’t like looking back at that fight.

“I don’t like looking at it, because I made so many mistakes. It was a good win and a good performance but I don’t like looking back at it – because I know I better than that.”

“I would love to knock him out but I will be fully prepared for 12 hard rounds and I want to get my hands on the IBF World title.”
