Frampton: Cazares is a tougher prospect than Kiko Martinez

CARL Frampton claims he will have to trump his career best performance to beat Hugo Cazares in the Odyssey Arena tonight.

‘The Jackal’ became the first man to stop Kiko Martinez and claimed the European title in front of an excited Belfast crowd in February of last year.

Victory over the now the IBF Champion of the World further ratified Frampton’s World title credentials and is viewed as the biggest win in the Belfast stars career.

However, ‘The Jackal’ is adamant Hugo Cazares is a trickier proposition than the Spaniard and stressed he will have to further up the performance level to beat the Mexican, something he is confident he can do.

“I think Hugo is a better fighter than Martinez. He will be harder to hit and as he has mentioned he has experience and experience is very important in this game. I really want this but I am guessing he really wants it too. He sees an all Mexican showdown with Santa Cruz and I see my first World title. Both of us are hungry and those ingredients together make for a great fight. Both of us want to win this fight.” said Frampton before stressing he things he will be too good for Cazares.

“I just think I’m too young, too fit and too strong for him. This is my time I am in the prime of my life, but I am still expecting a tougher fight that Martinez. I believe I am one of the fittest super bantamweights in the world and I believe I can go all night if I have too.”

Frampton boasts one of the most passionate vocal support in boxing and they atmosphere they provided intimidated his most recent victim Jeremy Parodi, but the unbeaten Irish Fighter of the Year winner claims Cazares won’t be adversely affected.

“The atmosphere is great. I think it got to my last opponent, but Hugo has been in hostile environments before and he won. I don’t think the atmosphere will get to him. In saying that he won’t have experienced a noise like he will on Friday night.
