Final additions made to Celtic Clash 5 bill

With the card now just three and a half weeks away, the Celtic Clash 5 bill has been finalised.

Today two more talents have been added to the show at Good Counsel GAA club in Drimnagh, Dublin, on Saturday March 24th, bringing the total number of fights to eight.

Lucan welterweight John Joyce [4(2)-0] and Blanchardstown cruiserweight debutant Chris Scuvie have this afternoon been confirmed for the small hal bill.

It is a quick return to action for Joyce who scored a points win over Ferenc Jarko on the inaugural Ring Kings show at the WIT Arena in Waterford on February 17th. That bout was the Dubliner’s first six-rounder however he may be scaling it back to four here as he keeps busy as a big year for the Irish Army man continues.

For the big-punching Scuvie it is a first outing. The Congolese-born fighter has impressed in the amateurs and in camp, and is said to bring phenomenal power with him to the ring.

The card on March 24th is headlined by the hotly-anticipated rematch between Stephen McAfee and Colin O’Donovan, with the pair this time going at it over eight rounds for the BUI Celtic super featherweight title.

Also featuring on the bill will be lightweight pair Niall O’Connor and Martin Quinn, classy welterweight Keane McMahon, super bantamweight Carl McDonald and Cavan debutant Owen Duffy.
