Conrad Cummings [17(7)-3(0)-1] is ready to set up a big 2020 by ending a a year that brought considerable lows on a high.

The Tyrone fighter, has been honest and open about how difficult and dark things became earlier this year and particularly after his WBO European title defeat to Luke Keeler.

‘Mr Dynamite’ has bounced back and got back on track mentally outside the ring. Now he is ready to address his career situation and put himself in a position to test his world level boxing credentials.

The 160lbs fighter can go a long way to doing that with victory in York Hall this coming Saturday.

The Coalisland fighter faces Danny Dignum [11(5)-0] for the vacant WBO European middleweight title on a #MTKFightNight.

Victory in what promises to be an interesting clash would see Cummings win the title for a third time and would boost his world ranking.

Former foe Luke Keeler has used the title as a stepping stone toward a world title fight – and within one fight of winning the strap is being heavily linked to WBA world champion Demetrius Andrade. Cumming’s is hoping for something similar.

“A win would set up a big 2020 and set up big fights. It would also mean I end a very difficult year on a big high,” Cummings told Irish-boxing.com.

“I’m buzzing for this, very excited and focused. I’ve been camp for 12 weeks so I’m ready.”

Cummings has already put some ring distance between himself and a troubled period by defeating Adam Grabiec in the Ulster Hall.

However, he notes this fight is different in every sense. The 28-year-old is aware what is at stake and the career healing a win prompt.

“I’m treating it as I would any fight and prepared to my very best, but the fact a WBO European title is on the line , a world ranking and I am up against an undefeated fighter has definitely given me an extra edge.I’m ready.”

On the other hand defeat may leave the middleweight needing somewhat of a rebuild, but that is something he hasn’t even contemplated.

“I haven’t even considered a loss, I’m ready to do what it takes and turn things right back around,” he adds before assuring a good performance.

“You’ll see on Saturday that I’m 100% ready. I’ll do my talking in the ring. I I know it’s a hard fight, but I’m ready. [I predict] a great win for myself and I’ll show my true worth. I’m excited. Let’s do this. I’ve felt the love off a lot of People recently and the support has been very uplifting thank you all.”

This camp has been Cummings second since teaming up with the team at Glean ABC. He feels preparations have been perfect and they will translate into a solid display on ESPN+ and IFL TV this Saturday.

“Camp has Gone great , loads of sparring and technical work , getting focused again. I have to say a big thanks to Gerard McManus and Daniel Anderson who have whipped me back into fantastic shape.”
