Undisputed champions of the world Katie Taylor [15(6)-0] and Cecilia Braekhus [36(9)-0] will meet in what will be the ‘biggest fight in boxing’ in 2020, according to Eddie Hearn.

Hearn now promotes both making the fight extremely easy to make and not long after the ‘First Lady’, who despite the emergence of Taylor, Clarissa Shields, Amanda Serrano and the like is still deemed the pound for pound #1, registered victory on her Matchroom debut he predicted it would happen next year.

38-year-old Norwegian made her 25th world championship defence on Saturday night, defeating Victoria Bustos by unanimous 99-91, 98-92, 98-92 decision in Monte Carlo.

Post the win attention turned to the Taylor and a potential fight between the undisputed lightweight and undisputed welterweight world champions.

Hearn hopes to make what he believes is the ‘biggest fight in boxing’ and what others have billed a ‘greatest of all time’ clash as early as next Summer.

“Of course, the future is Katie Taylor. They’re undisputed world champions, I think another fight for both in the spring and then a summer fight. It’s the biggest fight in boxing. I think we need to make that fight,” she said on Sky Sports.

“Cecilia has broken down the doors in professional boxing. She wants to make sure we can get the biggest fights. Those two are certainly on a collision course. I think in 2020, you’ll definitely see that fight.”

“That sounds good to me,” was a keen Braekhus’ response.

The talk after Bray’s Taylor became two weight world champion by beating Christina Linardatou in Manchester last month was of a mega 2020.

Amanda Serrano, Delfine Persoon, Braekhus and a second undisputed clash were all discussed. At that time it was believed that Serrano would be next on an all Woman’s card around March 7, the Persoon rematch would play out in the Summer and a monster bout with Braekhus would be the third fight of a sensational year.

However, Hearn now seems to be pushing to make Braekhus for the Summer.

Taylor was offered the chance to be ringside for the Norwegians latest win, but turned down the opportunity in favour of surprising 11-year-old Ella Thompson on the Late Late Toy Show.
