Dylan Moran and Vlad Belujsky gain Irish title eligibility following quickfire Mexican KOs

Waterford welterweight Dylan Moran and Cork super middleweight Vladimir Belujsky both scored early stoppage wins last night in Mexico.

The pair were in action on a bill in Tijuana facing veteran Mexican opposition and – as the bouts were scheduled for eight rounds – both are now eligible for the Irish title.

Moran [7(5)-0] stopped Sonoran Joel Juarez [32(28)-34(33)-2] in the opening round of their contest, exploding on the 39-year-old ‘Dinamita’ early.

Belujsky [6(6)-1(0)-1] was extended into the third round but finished Israel Ornelas [10(5)-11(5)-2].

The 23-year-olds will look to be back in action quickly, most likely on the Ray Moylette Mayo Homecoming card at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar on Friday December 7th.

Cork lightweight James Power, Ireland’s youngest pro at just 17 years of age, was due to box on the bill last night but will instead box on a card tonight due to the initial show being overbooked. He will look to move to 2-0 following a debut win in September.
